Celebrating the 4th of July in Nashville? Come kayak with us!

There’s no doubt this Fourth of July will be different than those in years past…but that doesn’t mean it won’t be great! If you’re looking to beat the heat, stay socially distant, and have tons of fun celebrating the 4th in Nashville, River Queen Voyages has THREE different options for you! Read on to see which options suits you and your group, then book your boats! We sell out quickly, so don’t wait too long…

Please note: The City closes off public access to Downtown for the days surrounding the July 4th holiday . For this reason, we cannot run our Skyline or Full Nash routes from July 2 - July 5. Thank you for checking out our other rental options!

Lakeside Paddle Pop-Up at Percy Priest

July 3rd, 2020 at Hamilton Creek Recreation Area

Join us for a fun Friday on Percy Priest Lake! Meet our crew at the Hamilton Creek Recreation Area boat ramp, then paddle around for the day! Pick up times are 10am or 12pm, and your boat doesn’t have to be returned to the boat ramp until 4pm. So, pack a picnic and make a day of it!

Paddle Pop-Up from Peeler Park to Opryland

July 4th & July 5th, 2020 on the Cumberland River

We’re taking things upriver! This gorgeous 4 hour paddle begins at Peeler Park at the end of Neely’s Bend in Madison, TN, and ends at the McGavock Boat Ramp on the Opryland side of the Cumberland River. Choose between a 10 am or 12pm start time for your booking. Like our regular routes, this is a one-way paddle. Thus, prior to your trip, you will park your car at the route’s END POINT (there’s a parking lot for the Opryland ramp). Then, take a Lyft or a second personal vehicle to the START POINT (Peeler Park). Our crew will meet you there with your boat and equipment and help get you out on the water!

The Greenway Route

July 3rd - 5th on the Cumberland River

This standard favorite is also making an appearance for the July 4th weekend. Also a one-way downriver trip, you will park a car at the route’s END POINT (Shelby Park in East Nashville, “Shelby Park Boat Ramp” in Google Maps). Then, have a Lyft/Uber** drive you to the route’s START POINT (4122 Moss Rose Drive, Nashville, TN 37216). The RQV crew will meet you there with your boat, paddles, and life jackets, and will help get you out on the water. You’ll paddle downstream (5 miles / ~2hrs). When you reach the end point of your paddle (Shelby Park Boat Ramp) our crew will be there to retrieve your boat and equipment. Then, you’ll be free to hop in the car you left there, and enjoy the rest of your day!

Kurbside Kayak / Canoe Rentals

July 3rd - 5th, wherever you want!

We’ll be offering a limited number of our Kurbside Kayak (and canoe) rentals all weekend long. Choose between a 9am or 12pm pick up time (pick up address is a private residence in East Nashville/Inglewood and will be sent after booking confirmation) and enjoy your boats anywhere you’d like until 6pm the same day! For this option, you are entirely responsible for transporting yourself, the kayak, and equipment. We have ratchet straps available for rent or purchase and will be happy to show you how to secure your boat atop everything from a Prius to a pickup truck.

We’re excited to get people out on the water for this holiday weekend! If you have any questions or just want to say hey, email us at booking@rqvoyages.com.
